Couples & relationship therapy
- also available online -

Many people find couples and relationship therapy uncomfortable. Some find it difficult to share their most intimate worries and problems with a third party.

Does couples and relationship therapy save a relationship, or is it the beginning of the end? Neither! But a conversation involving a third person could reveal new perspectives. Couples therapy can also encourage couples to listen to one another through the presence of a neutral, uninvolved person who is there to listen. In this way, many ingrained patterns and misunderstandings can be broken down by the therapist’s questions. An important aim of couples and relationship therapy is therefore to restore balance.

Please note that couples counselling is not psychotherapy and does not replace it.

The term "therapy" used on my website is not used in the legal sense of psychotherapy but describes an in-depth counselling process that may continue over a longer period.

Are you currently undergoing psychotherapy? Please check with your therapist to ensure there are no objections to undertaking couples counselling at the same time.

Can couples & relationship therapy be covered by health insurance? For more information, see the section Occupational therapy.
